Coming to your $1,200 relief check: Donald J. Trump's name
Source: Washington Post
The Treasury Department has ordered President Trumps name be printed on stimulus checks the Internal Revenue Service is rushing to send to tens of millions of Americans, a process that is expected to slow their delivery by several days, senior agency officials said.
The unprecedented decision, finalized late Monday, means that when recipients open the $1,200 paper checks the IRS is scheduled to begin sending to 70 million Americans in coming days, President Donald J. Trump will appear on the left side of the payment.
It will be the first time a presidents signature appears on an IRS disbursement, whether a routine refund or one of the handful of checks the government has issued to taxpayers in recent decades either to stimulate a down economy or share the dividends of a strong one.
While some people receiving the checks the centerpiece of the U.S. governments economic relief package to stave of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic may not care, or observe, whose name appears on them, the decision is another sign of Trumps effort to cast his response to the pandemic in political terms.

(18,470 posts)The funds haven't actually been put in my account yet but I did see an entry for it today.
If I was getting a physical check with that fuck's signature on it I'd mail it back to the IRS with instructions for them to stick the check where the sun doesn't shine. I don't need the money that bad.

narcissistic name, either.
It surprises me that there are so many who don't do direct deposit.
I'll take his money and tell him to FO, assface.

(4,533 posts)I have some income which has no option for tax withholding, but not enough to require estimated tax payments, so I always owe tax. I borrow the tax from the IRS interest free in effect. So no direct deposit. Many people want to delay paying tax as long as possible. They need cash flow to pay their bills. And many people dont have bank accounts.

Michael Cohen presents "a copy of a check Trump wrote from his personal bank account after he became president to reimburse me for the hush money payments I made to cover up his affair with an adult film star" to Congress. http://bit.ly/2IIvzOu

(19 posts)Thankfully I have direct deposit, also. But if I didn't, I would take a Sharpie and completely obliterate that disgusting name. It's reportedly on the memo line anyway, so it shouldn't prevent the check from being cashed.

Trump isn't so much a man, as he is some kind of slime mold in pancake makeup and a cheap wig.

(18,906 posts)Like it's his money or something. Seeing that he had absolutely nothing to do with the stimulus, other than signing the bill written and passed by Congress, of course, once again Trump takes credit for something he had almost nothing to do with. Once again, anything good that happens Trump wants full credit for, but of course he takes none of the responsibility for any of the fuck-ups that came directly to his inattention and ignorance.
