1,000s of voters still waiting for absentee ballots

Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer

AKRON, Ohio - Nearly two weeks after absentee ballots were to be sent to Ohio voters, thousands are still waiting for their ballots due to delays with a Cleveland-based printing company serving 16 counties, including Cuyahoga, Lorain and Summit.

Midwest Direct is keeping mum on exactly how many ballots are still delayed, with a spokeswoman on Monday pointing to a statement released Thursday, which indicated that at least one unspecified board of elections had submitted an additional request for 14,000 ballots last week.

The company, with headquarters on West 110th Street in Cleveland and an office in Pittsburgh, contracted this year to print and mail ballots for the boards of elections in the Ohio counties of Butler, Cuyahoga, Clinton, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lorain, Lucas, Mahoning, Miami, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Union, Williams and Wood - and two in Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh's Allegheny county.
---

The company gained national attention last week as the subject of a New York Times article, which reported that the company flew a Trump 2020 flag this year at its Cleveland headquarters, but took it down recently. The Times reported that Midwest Direct's owners - brothers CEO Richard Gebbie and chairman James Gebbie - said they are Trump supporters. Richard Gebbie has made small political donations to Republicans including LaRose and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, and has written public Facebook posts questioning the severity of the coronavirus and criticizing Taylor Swift for her accusations that Trump was seeking to dismantle the Postal Service.

The contract almost certainly is with the counties.

Cuyahoga (essentially Cleveland) went for Clinton by well over 2-1.

then the voter has thirteen days to send it back if they complete it immediately. What if these ballots arrive five days from now? This will undoubtedly cause several people to not get their ballots returned on time. Errors do happen and an unanticipated demand can cause production delays. However, these creeps have made clear their loyalty to Trump. It all smells bad.

Or make sure it's postmarked by post office before mailing it. OH will count ballots arriving up to 10 days after the election if they are postmarked before the election.

How many people will continue to take such steps just to vote when there are obstacles at every turn? We want to make it as easy as possible to vote. They want to make it difficult hoping that some will give up.

Is the return postage pre-paid?

Had them within 3 days of date they were authorized to be sent out.

Mailed them in a week later and they were received and recorded by the county 2 days later.

3 Official Votes for Joe & Kamala!

Not defending the company, but so far at least a lot of us have been able to vote.

Typical Trumpism incompetence when trying to run a scam.

The question answers itself.
