McConnell undecided on conviction
Source: NBC News
McConnell told his GOP colleagues in a note this afternoon he remains undecided on whether he’ll vote to convict Trump. “While the press has been full of speculation, I have not made a final decision on how I will vote and I intend to listen to the legal arguments when they are presented to the Senate,” McConnell wrote to his colleagues. 3. I have real reservations about the Dems sending
the articles to the Senate while Moscow Mitch is still the leader. He would probably love nothing better than to sit on them and do nothing. I see the wisdom in waiting until he's been demoted to minority leader.

It will help mcCONnell eject tRump from Greed Over People. Turtle will lord it over what will become the Rotting Elephant Party. tRump will form the MAGA Q God Emperor of the US party. Democrats will work with Lincoln Project style rational conservatives. |

21. Yes that's exactly what the Sultan of Smarm is doing.
Trying to have it every which way but the right way. Sorry Moscow Mitch the plain fact is by not agreeing to reconvene the Senate now as Senator Schumer has requested you are legally and morally responsible for whatever heinous acts the impeached traitor in chief commits while he is left to remain like a pile of festering dung beetle detritus in the people’s White House before the cleanup crew arrives January 20th.

Also, his wife family shipping business receives federal contracts to do business with China. Her father directly donates a million dollar to Mitch campaign.

The Senate won't reconvene until the 19th. You can bet the first order of business will not be the second impeachment.

...He has seen a whole lot, and I believe the asshole has decided. He just doesn't want to tell us now. That

He may delay a vote until after the inauguration and leave it to the Democrats, or actually torpedo the Senate impeachment trial.

25. Cut off the flow of money and watch the turtle flip
McConnell realizing that corporate money is being withdrawn from Reps and Senators who continue to support the insurrectionist in chief now considering voting to convict. A case of doing the right thing for the wrong reason, but I'll take it.

32. He wants Democrats to do the dirty work after they regain power.
He may vote to impeach, but he's too spineless to reconvene the Senate and stop Trump from doing more damage.
The impeachment and conviction, if it occurs, can then be characterizes as vindictive, not preventive. |

President Clinton for lying about a consensual blowjob. And now you are unsure how to vote on incitement of insurrection? Quick, someone hand him a stained blue dress so he can see a path to convict. What else can be holding him up?

40. Seems to me conviction would suit his purposes right now.
If we view the impeachment as part of the power struggle between Mr McConnell and Mr Trump for the leadership of the GOP, having his opponent removed from office in disgrace would seem to be a clear victory for Mr McConnell.
The irony being that, if Donald Trump is impeached and convicted, it helps Mitch McConnell, which is a shame. -- Mal |
