should face 'burning at the stake'

The chair of Michigan's Republican Party has apologized after calling female Democratic lawmakers "witches" and joking about the assassination of GOP congressmen who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump.

Ron Weiser, the chair of the Michigan GOP, made the comments during a Northern Oakland Republican Club meeting Thursday. They were first reported by The Detriot News.

"Our job now is to soften up those three witches and make sure that we have good candidates against them, that they are ready for the burning at the stake," Weiser said in a video recording of the meeting.

Weiser on Sunday apologized for his remarks after initially refusing to do so, but said he would not resign.

1. Ron Weasel only apologized because he got pushback over his remark.

This after the attempted kidnapping plot on Gov. Whitmer shows that Weiser is an out and out asshole.

plus losing their supermajority in the MI Senate and losing seats in the MI House even after gerrymandering the crap out of our state. And it's only going to get worse for them after the Independent Redistricting Commission reconfigures Michigan.

Keep it up, dickhead.

... why didn't they turn Ron Weiser into a newt?

Or maybe they already did and nobody noticed the difference.

7. Yeah, I'm sort of sick of all the apologies these days.

They don't impress me. They only apologize when they think what they've done will affect their chances at reelection. Nothing sincere about them at all.

He needs to resign. Period.

9. This is the bully method: apologize when you get caught out for saying what you really believe.

Right Wingers and their minions have done this for decades. His apology means nothing since he meant what he said at the time, and still does. More formal punishment is in order IMO. But of course he speaks for the GOP leadership and many of its members so they believe they have no reason to admonish him.

He is rightly getting called on to resign. He is a loudmouth blowhard and needs to go.
