DENVER A judge has granted a narrow temporary restraining order against workers who are on strike from King Soopers, while rejecting most of the grocery chain's requests.
King Soopers filed the motion for a temporary restraining order on Tuesday, alleging picketers were "making choices that compromise safety." In a ruling issued Friday, District court judge Sarah Wallace said the grocery store chain did not provide enough evidence to impose most of the restrictions they had requested, but that she would grant a more narrow order specifically related to allowing delivery trucks and customers to come and go from the store.
King Soopers had requested the court prevent picketers from:
Scissoring or carousel movement
Having more than six picketers at a time
Standing in front of entrances
Marching in the parking lot
Shouting at any person from within 20 feet
Setting up heating devices
Interfering with the use of handicapped parking spaces
Establishing tents or awnings
"Roving to other tenants stores
Setting up tables
Playing amplified music and using bullhorns or airhorns
Banging drums, boxes, or plastic containers to distract customers
