Trump Publicly Admits He Thinks He Can Break Any Law He Wants

Source: Rolling Stone

-snip-

“He who saves his Country does not violate any Law,” Trump posted online — not just once, but twice. The president felt strongly enough about the sentiment (which several observers pointed out appeared to be based on an apparently fake quote from Napoleon) that he blasted it out on his own Truth Social site as well as his account on Musk’s platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a message seeking further comment on Saturday.

Trump’s statement bears obvious resemblance to disgraced President Richard Nixon’s infamous line about how “when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.” Like Nixon, Trump has now explicitly stated that he believes he is simply above the law, as any Mad King or debauched emperor should be.

If he’s doing or ordering something that he then says is “saving” the nation, as the logic goes, constitutional limits and legal restrictions don’t apply.

Scenario: he seems to really believe the country is the dystopia he promoted during the election and that he is the savior blessed by God.

Where did this idea come from? Those manipulating his big ego, probably telling him God saved him from the attempted assassination for a holy purpose. If true, very frightening.

No telling the damage he will do thinking he can do no wrong-- remember he is a believer in Norman Vincent Peale's magical "Power of Positive Thinking" and ironically actually create the dystopia he thinks he is overcoming.

Doesn't explain the capitals in the middle of words, or his inappropriate use of "quotation" marks.

To anyone interested in reading about this evil A$$HOLE's early years, I recommend Mary Trump's books.

I read 2 of them and loved them both:
- "Too Much & Never Enough,"
- "Who Could Ever Love You: A Family Memoir"

She tells lots of interesting stories about growing up as part of that family, not just about her A$$HOLE uncle.
She writes about her father, Fred Trump Jr, who, being the eldest was supposed to take over the Trump organization, but who became an airline pilot for TWA, much to the chagrin of his father, Fred Trump Sr, who thought being a pilot was like being a bus driver.
Both books are well written & interesting.

He is now drinking his cult's koolade and their adulation is creating a messiah complex in his mind.

Unfortunately drumpf doesn't know what the word "save" means.

Also unfortunately, the more laws he breaks, ignores, or supersedes the more the confusion is created and the more difficult to enforce these laws.

Once, during a junior high school basketball game, a referee said to me "If we call every foul the game will turn into a free throw shooting contest and last all night".

So far not much 'saving', as understood by normal people, is in evidence.

'He is not the Messiah. He is a naughty boy!' Monty Python, 'Life of Brian'.

Anyhow, SCOTUS gave him a perpetual 'you can do no wrong' stay out of jail card, so there is that.

Daddy bought him a doctor who'd swear to non-existent bone spurs.

He's been serving nobody but himself ever since and will go on doing it till he dies. He's violated a number of laws so far and will go on doing that, too, unless he's prevented.

If only there were still a few old-school conservatives who could grope around in their pants and come up with some balls. But not in this bunch - most of them think like Chump, and the ones who actually still pay lip service to 'serving the country' are cowards.
