FBI investigating Tesla vehicles shot and set on fire at facility in Las Vegas

Source: Aol/CNN

Updated 3:36 AM EDT, Wed March 19, 2025

CNN — A person dressed in black shot and set fire to several Tesla vehicles at a repair facility in Las Vegas early Tuesday, police said, in what the FBI is investigating as a possible act of domestic terrorism. “This was a targeted attack against a Tesla facility,” Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a Tuesday news conference.

Several 911 calls were made around 2:45 a.m. reporting a fire at the facility, said Koren. “Officers discovered several vehicles on fire as well as the word ‘Resist’ spray-painted on the front doors of the business,” he said.

Police departments across the United States have been investigating a wave of attacks on showrooms, charging stations and vehicles belonging to Tesla, whose CEO Elon Musk has taken on a controversial federal cost-cutting role in the so-called Department of Government Efficiency.

“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,” US Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a statement Tuesday. Bondi said the Department of Justice has already charged “several perpetrators with that in mind,” including in cases that involve charges with long-term mandatory minimum sentences.

but attacking the Capitol, injuring and killing police officers, destroying federal property and attempting to subvert an election are pardonable offenses.

were merely testing the flamability of Tesla's paint application. Consumer protection is now illegal?

Stuff like this just makes me want to take a dump on Elon's chair.

They are investing those too, right?

I feel bad for those who bought teslas in the past. Anyone who bought the cybertruck, not so much.

And I'm astounded that they havnt lost even more market share in current sales.

will soon purchase at least 100,000 high-end Teslas for "study" purposes. Eloon expects some ROI on his purchase of the government.

paid someone to do this, to set up an excuse for the domestic terrorism bs. How aabout those ev batteries?

Attacking OUR Capitol is NOT terrorism, but this is? Attacking women's clinics and staff and the women clients themselves is NOT domestic terrorism, but going after cars is? This country has some seriously skewed priorities.

17. It is vandalism

Not terrorism. However the Musk has his feelings hurt, so the FBI must get involved.

Certainly the vandals should be prosecuted if caught. Sounds like a matter for State law enforcement.

because the comma is missing.

There is some grammatical "rule" about order and punctuation...

I.e., it would technically need to be like the below to assume the FBI was impacted -

FBI investigating Tesla vehicles , shot and set on fire at facility in Las Vegas

I think this - Commas with introductory phrases might be closest to describing what could have happened here.

They care about "retaliation" and "revenge".

One cannot broad-brush the thinking of a "few" as being the thinking of 'the masses".
