Exclusive: Israel Warns US Jews: Iran Could Strike Here
Israeli facilities in North America -- and around the world -- are on high alert, according to an internal security document obtained by ABC News that predicted the threat from Iran against Jewish targets will increase.
"We predict that the threat on our sites around the world will increase
on both our guarded sites and 'soft' sites," stated a letter circulated by the head of security for the Consul General for the Mid-Atlantic States. Guarded sites refers to government facilities like embassies and consulates, while 'soft sites' means Jewish synagogues, and schools, as well as community centers like the one hit by a terrorist bombing in Buenos Aires in 1994 that killed 85 people.
The head of Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service, told an audience at a closed forum in Tel Aviv recently that Iran is trying to hit Israeli targets because of what it believes are Israeli attacks on it nuclear scientists. Yoram Cohen said that Iran's Revolutionary Guard, the same militant wing of the government linked to the recent alleged plot against the Saudi ambassador to the U.S., is working tirelessly to attack Israeli and Jewish targets abroad in order to deter Israel.
Local and regional law enforcement and intelligence officials in U.S. and Canadian cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Toronto have been monitoring the situation closely for several weeks, and have stepped up patrols at Israeli government locations and Jewish cultural and religious institutions. They have issued awareness bulletins reminding officers to stay vigilant.

They're going to get the shock of their lives when Jesus pulls a no show when this happens and Israel gets a mortal body blow in retaliation for it's insane aggression.

What, are the Iranian people who will die in this lying war of aggression not worth worrying about? I heard the same thing, over and over about Iraq, and it sickens me now just as it did then.

(6,119 posts)that we need diplomacy not war.
Tell the White House and Congress to reject calls for military action and indiscriminate sanctions, and to press for sustained, direct, and comprehensive negotiations with Iran to prevent violence and to secure lasting solutions to regional conflict and the stand-off over Irans nuclear program. We deplore the use of violence, and call on U.S. policymakers to have the responsible parties held accountable in civilian courts.

In just a year, Jewish Israelis opinion of President Barack Obama has turned on its head, according to a new Saban Center for Middle East Policy poll.
A majority, or 54 percent, now say they have a favorable view of the U.S. president a year ago, just 41 percent of those polled viewed Obama in a positive light.
In 2011, 39 percent say they have a negative opinion of Obama, another far cry from his 2010 numbers when 51 percent said they were not fans of Obama. Thats a net 25-point upswing for Obama in Israel.
The good news from Israel offsets the slight negative turn Obama has seen from Jewish American voters: In a Gallup poll released in September, four out of 10 said they disapproved of Obama, and his approval ratings fell from 60 percent in June to 55 percent.
Back in Israel, Obama appears in the list of top five world leaders Jews there say they admire most. With 6 percent, he comes just behind former President George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, with 7 percent each, and former President Bill Clinton with 10 percent. Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany reigns as the favorite with 12 percent saying she is the leader outside of Israel they most admire.

Israeli Jews' View of President Obama Improving
Despite criticisms earlier this year about President Obama's position on the Arab-Israeli peace process, his standing among Jewish Israelis is improving, according to a public opinion poll released Wednesday night. Yet, the president still has fewer admirers within the group than past and present world leaders, like German Chancellor Angela Merkel or former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
According to the poll, conducted earlier this month in Israel by Shibley Telhami, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, 54 percent of Jewish Israelis polled said they had a favorable view of President Obama, while 39 percent viewed him unfavorably. That's an improvement from last year, when a majority saw him unfavorably.
Part of the disapproval could be attributed to views about how the current administration has handled U.S. policy in the Middle East. According to the survey, a plurality of Israeli Jews (39 percent) said they were discouraged by the Obama administration's policies; only 22 percent said they were hopeful.
When asked which foreign leader they admired most, Merkel earned the top spot, followed by the late British leader Winston Churchill. Both Clinton and Bush ranked above Obama, who got only 6 percent of the write-in vote.
Opinions among Jewish Israelis differ significantly from those elsewhere in the Middle East. According to another Brookings poll released last week, for example, only 34 percent of people surveyed in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Lebanon, and Jordan said they had a positive view of Obama, while 43 percent saw him negatively.

(7,865 posts)Basically the Israeli government wants to scare American Jews into donating to organizations that push for American support to the right wing party in Israel. This is shameful.
But as long as there is oil in the region American corporations will continue to use this entire situation to their own advantage. After the oil runs out they will abandon Israel. Really that is the worst part for me. The right wing there (just like here) runs on some kind of fantasy that they can maintain the current situation and occupation indefinitely and that the average Israeli citizen is going to suffer.
Many of the plutocrats and oil men and wealthy sorts are either closet anti-semites or fundamentalist Christians that will no doubt see this as part 17 in their Rapture Revelations Jesus spectacular show.
