Dick Durbin: Obamacare line needed clarification

Source: Politico

Sen. Dick Durbin said Tuesday the cancellations people might face of their coverage under Obamacare and the statement that individuals could keep their plans “should have been clarified.”

“I can tell you that a couple more sentences added to it would’ve clarified it, and they should’ve been added. The president has apologized. I think he said very clearly he was sorry if he misled people,” Durbin (D-Ill.) said on CNN’s “Legal View with Ashleigh Banfield.”

The number two Senate Democrat also acknowledged that he, in addition to President Barack Obama, told people that under the new law, if you like your plan, you can keep it.

“I said it because I believed it. Now I know that I should have added that for 98 percent of American people, that is exactly true. For the other two percent who are in the individual market, there are frequent changes in policies,” Durbin said.

Durbin is really disappointing. He believed it? Come on, most of us knew it would not. Obama said as much during the WH Healthcare summit . So, if Durbin thought NOBODY would have to change coverage, he is an idiot.

For the rest, they should have been more careful. I agree with Durbin on that. But there are a lot of things that are said in speeches that are not correct/

... that if your current health insurance policy is legit/not a junk policy, then it won't be cancelled. The information is coming out now that many who thought they had a great deal, ie...$56 a month, have found there is no hospitalization coverage, only $50 coverage per doctors office visit, etc...

Whether such policies occurred by hook or by crook, they are/were worthless for major illnesses, not to mention the other points covered in the ACA, ie... drop you after you get sick, pre-existing, jack up rates after a claim, etc...

PS: Sorry about the over usage of, "ie..." , and "etc".

Of course they would/will do all they can to screw with the President and Americans.

You should have known that Dick.

who believed that their existing insurance would magically freeze in place....forever. The world is dynamic...not static

Where does 98 percent come from? I have looked, but can't find a source.
