and if women voted in their interests in any significant numbers they would take control of our country. Same for our young voters, same for working class people. Somehow Republican propaganda machines have half the country on a paranoid self victimizing path.

Men telling "ornamental women" what to think and what is good for them, their
families, and friends. Chicks don't dig health care, educations, and reproductive rights.

Most Republicans have no idea how sexist and insulting that is and would be genuinely surprised if you told them. Stupid and out-of-touch go hand in hand.

First chance I got, I'd turn to the wrinkliest old prune on the Y chromosome panel (probably Beauprez,) and say:

"Bachelor number two: If you and I are on a really hot date, and I totally want to take it up the back way, do you think you could keep it hard enough long enough for me to get off?"

Then sit back and watch the fun.

evilly,
Bright

This is exactly what repugs think of women... People sat in a room and planned this out... They thought this was just fine... They not only still do but their base also is completely fine with it.

Couldn't vote till I was 21, but in spite of being raised in a very RW-fundie-christian family, I registered as a Democrat. I enjoyed spirited political discussions with my father and other mysogynists I encountered, plenty of them in Colorful Colorado. Sounds like they still abound in my old home state. Anyway, something I didn't learn in school was that women got the vote in 1893. Here's more info on that. The last paragraph is very interesting, and makes me kinda proud. Of course, back in the day, I wasn't paid as much as "guys" for all the usual reasons. No need to go into that. I live in the NW now, and observe with wonder what's going on in good ol' Colorado.

From Wikipedia:
A referendum on women's suffrage was held in the U.S. state of Colorado on November 7, 1893 to ratify a proposed constitutional amendment, HB 118, allowing women the right to vote. The amendment passed with support from the Colorado Non-Partisan Equal Suffrage Association, a grassroots coalition of women's organizations, churches, political parties, charity groups, unions and farmer's alliances. This was the first time in U.S. history that a state referendum had passed women's suffrage into law.

55% of the electorate turned out to vote, with 35,798 voting in favor and 29,551 voting against.

The following year, three Colorado women - Clara Cressingham, Carrie Clyde Holly and Frances Klock - became the first women to be elected to any legislature in U.S. history when they were elected to the Colorado House of Representatives.
