UK To Close Borders, Evacuate Expats If Euro Collapses

Uploaded by RussiaToday on Dec 27, 2011

As Eurozone nations sink ever deeper into crisis, the UK Treasury is working on a contingency plan for the single currency's collapse. It includes capital control measures that, under EU rules, require agreement from most of the Union members. Britain is also prepared to close its borders and evacuate expats and holidaymakers from the effected countries. Robert Oulds, president of the Bruge Groups of campaigners against excess unification in Europe says many countries will benefit if euro collapses.

How long can the UK last without imports?

They *probably* don't have sufficient farmland to feed the entire population and gave their manufacturing base away, too, didn't they?

IDK.

...and they won't be able to pull that ''how about $24 for an island???" ruse like they did the last time.

the Euro and the EU are two different things. the UK can't legally kick out people from the EU (assuming it could even locate them) without withdrawing from the EU entirely.

...but this video wasn't about ''the UK withdrawing from the EU.'' It was about the UK's plans to close its own borders to foreigners, and how it will repatriate its citizens from EU countries when the collapse of the Euro occurs.

- And that collapse will happen fairly soon......

This is likely mere posturing by Cameron (or whoever, no difference) to shift blame for their austerity measures onto 'Them.'

You know, the French, Germans, Greeks etc., when TPTB of all of the countries are just the same people with different brand names.

Now IF the UK literally cuts off all *business* ties, we'll know they *mean* it. How very rough and tough, 'line in the sand' of them.

Arbitrary lines set by the same thinking who brought us the 'Line of Demarcation,' to assign the plunder of the world between themselves.

They won't really cut off the EU, because they can't do it, but it plays to national fervor.

These announcements are great entertainment. If they ever pulled the curtain aside, stopped playing the US vs. THEM game, how would humanity be able to define itself in different teams for this sporting match?

Oh, no, the show must go on...

but the fact remains that the UK can't legally close its borders to EU citizens without withdrawing from the EU. In any event, even if the euro collapses, i doubt most expats would want to come back anyway.
