3. I've been canvassing for Bernie. Many of our voters are first-time voters.

It is quite exciting for me as an older person to see the pride and joy on their faces when I explain to them how to get their ballot, where to vote, and when to vote. They are so young and so beautiful, each and every one of them. It has been a wonderful experience for me as an older woman to canvass for Bernie. Inspiring. It is giving me so much hope for the future. What wonderful young people. And so many of them living at home with their parents and siblings.

you express my experience beautifully!

i've been phone banking (from MA) to CA for bernie for over two weeks now (and around the country since january), and those are my sentiments exactly. and especially in CA. the youth voters are so exhilarated and enthusiastic, and have inspired me with their understanding of the issues and what's at stake.

it is in these youth that we must place our trust and our hope.

from 2000, blaming the old FL dems for not being able to navigate the butterfly ballots, all while their republican puppeteers were robbing the citizens blind of the election, purging the voter roles and scamming the count.

are you too young to remember that?

so, how much do you know about what's going on in CA with the ballots?

first of all, there was some odd twist that put tens of thousands of independent voters into the american independent party; when that story was broken a few weeks ago, most of those voters switched to NPP (no party preference).

ok, but that's evidently not a smooth transition in the CA dem primary; they seem determined to keep it complicated by sending out ballots that oddly - again - lacked the presidential candidates' names. obviously, can't mail that in, so that option is no longer available to so many who are unable to get off work to vote.

this is just one or two in the scammers bag of so many tricks to keep the voters down, both in numbers and in spirit, in order to control, well, every damn thing.

are you too cynical to get that?

or, might you be one of those david brock bots he's so proud of that does auto 'correction' of the record w/o even checking out the video.

because clearly, you did not watch it. you might consider that; it opens with comments on the concept of morality.

you know; that notion of right and wrong?

6. CA election is fraudulent too?

I guess Clinton is going to pull off a win after all. Whenever Sanders is about to lose, we hear complaints about fraud.
First Puerto Rico and now California.

These posts are a very good sign for the Clinton campaign. Thanks for the update!

and it was very very good. He gave those conservative white Christians a message that was far more Christ-like than the crap they get at that school.

As to your point about provisional ballots, that is a policy that was created by HAVA, a law passed in 2002 that Congressman Sanders voted for. Provisional ballots are only a stopgap measure, but they are a major improvement over what we had before. Prior to HAVA if the poll worker said you weren't on the rolls, you were just shit out of luck and had to go home. If you started an argument, a sheriff's deputy might very have escorted you away. Provisional ballots are no excuse to abandon fixing the many other things wrong with the way we run elections, but it's a step in the right direction. Bernie recognized that too when he voted for HAVA.

9. One unintended consequence of this law are votes not counted. Thus, the title.

Thank you for your informative post. This is an important lesson to learn toward planning sweeping election reform.

10. Beautiful video and message

Beautiful video and message, even if it has nothing to do with the title in the OP (unless i somehow missed it when i watched the entire video). Messages like this one are perfect examples of the reasons why I tell my grandmother, an 80 year old Hispanic democrat who knocked on doors for MLK, it is good that Bernie ran for president. His run has forced Hilary to make more progressive campaign promises than may have been necessary if she had an open field. Yet there was nothing Bernie could really do or say to convince me, a SoCal liberal democratic voter, that he would be the pragmatic choice to run for president of my party. It is time for him to get out of the race in my mind, even though I hope his run has an impact on our future candidates.

This is a make it or break it moment in the history of this country. These opportunities come along now and again, but I don't think the stakes have ever been higher than right now, at least for the last, what, 70 years or so? I have allot of faith in California, though I must say I was disappointed in Jerry Brown for his announcement per who he personally is going to vote for. He could have remained quiet about his preference and encouraged Californians to get out and vote their conscience in this election.

So it is what it is. This election now sits on the shoulders of those western states of CA, MT, ND, SD, and NM, and then DC back east next week.

Great ad from Bernie!

14. Praying for a Better World in California

Today I put my life sized cardboard image of Bernie on the front porch and pray that California leads the nation to a better life.
I am proud that I have and am giving Bernie more money than I have ever spent on a candidate. He is the best candidate I have ever had in 50 years of voting Democratic Party. If he looses the nomination I am changing to Independent.
