My husband grew up with single payer healthcare. I had to explain the American system to him. What insurance covers, what it doesn't, copays, deductibles and spending accounts. It was just as frustrating to me and he was so angry. He called it daylight robbery. I couldn't agree more. Imagine when I told him I needed to see a Naturopathic MD doctor that didn't take insurance and how we had to pay out of pocket and hope to get some of it reimbursed. When I achieved remission of my thyroid disease by leaving 'modern' medicine, he was happy for both of us.

This is not a pipe dream people and we have to fight for this. Our country depends on us to get this done and we have to make it happen.

First we have to convince people that this is not socialized medicine.
Second we have to convince people that the government is not coming between them and their medical care.
Third we have to explain how we are eliminating the insurance industry as we know it.
Fourth we need to explain how private insurance can be purchased for those millionaires that can afford to pay for it.
Fifth we need to explain the math - tax based medical care vs insurance premiums. The UK pays 3% of their income to healthcare.
Sixth we need to give examples of how this system works around the world for less money than we pay per capita.
Seventh, we need to go door to door and have town halls and tv programs that explain this to the country.
Eighth we must never let up and never give up hope.
