2. I don't get why pro sports don't try the no spectators option like

It's the 21st Century and 4K TVs + online streaming exist!

AND the players could pledge a big chunk of their overpaid contracts to help local causes. It's not like they're going to die of starvation before 2030...

4. Could teams survive with just ad revenue?

Without butts in the seats buying beers and snacks, about the only income would be tv ad revenue. Would that be enough to pay those $20 million/yr salaries?
