Waaaaaaah.

They're talking about less than 10% increase in corporate taxes, still at historic lows. GO back to the highest Regan Corporate tax rate. Good enough for Ronnie, good enough for us now.

Many big corproations paid zero, or got refunds.. This is ludicrous.

The top 2% of earners might have to pay a 3% top tax rate. We understand marginal tax rates.

I had a guy who says he is adoctor in California whining that $400K a year wasn't "rich." Well, it's among the top 2% of all earners, so, yeah, y' kind of are. You're not uber rich, because you still have to work for a paycheck, but you're not suffering.

He said he could barely afford a home. I said my husband and I were public school teachers, and owned a home in Morgan Hill. (south Bay). He went to zillow and said well, a 2200sf home was $1.2million.

I found three comparable homes in MH, in nice neighborhoods, for $500K-$900K.

Accoridng to Zillow, a $1.2M home is a $9200/month mortgage. OK, Mr. $400,000+ a year. You' make $30K a month. YOu can afford a $1.2M home based on rough 1/3 of income calculations.

Then, he had over $300K in student loan debt. Perhaps you over borrowed. Oh, no, Medical school in state cost MORE THAN $50K a year he said.

Current in state costs at UCLA run $34K. Today. Not twenty years ago. But then he went to school in another (unnamed state).

So, you chose to move to a high cost of living state, and you think you deserve a 2200sf new home.

Well, he has children, and day care, and they have to go to public school, and he can barely afford to drive on his family vacations, and he's forced to stay in, the horror, motels.

Kids are a choice, an expensive one. I offered him my accountant's name, since his was clearly incompetent.

Then he whined that he wasn't in the top 2% nationally because he was only in the top 9% in California.

I lived in the Bay Area from 19-46. LA before that. He was full of shit, and all over the map as to how a 39.6% top marginal rate would be unjust, since he's not rich.

He blocked me.

Public education should be free. It's an investment in people.
