2. Lol, the "just take one" bowl of candy.

I watched as my older brother (7 years older) dumped the entire bowl of candy in his huge bag (a pillow case) as I protested that he shouldn't do that!

He ignored me and we continued on our way, wearing me out because he ran from house to house and I was supposed to stay with him.

I later snitched on what he did to my parents, like he'd committed a terrible crime with the bowl of candy, but they didn't care. And I later got some bruises from my brother for trying to cause trouble for him.

3. I don't know if they still exist...

... but there used to be people (often elderly) who would hand out a single penny to the trick or treaters.

And the "wax lips" people. Ugh!

Edit: Everyone just thanked the old people since they had big smiles and were pleasant while handing out the pennies, and the kids later speculated that a penny was actually worth something a century ago... when we estimated that they were kids themselves.

4. Eight: The Republican House

They open to door and take all the goodies you've accumulated. And if you try to get your stuff back, well, the police have already been called on you!

5. Yeah, but that means more candy...

... will trickle down to everyone else somehow.
