From the book by the same name.

The plot partially revolves around the missing master copy of a film cartridge, titled Infinite Jest and referred to in the novel as "the Entertainment" or "the samizdat". The film is so entertaining to its viewers that they become lifeless, losing all interest in anything other than viewing the film.

Don't dwell on puerile pursuits and, instead, dedicate ourselves to the betterment of mankind.

I'm not sure who the 'some of us' are, but I'm certain there must be some.

there were several play parodies that Max Bialystock produced that had great titles that they had up in lights. "She Shtups to Conquer", "King Leer" I want to see all of those. But, I especially want to see "Maim!"
