Everything Trump touches turns to shit and I hope we have a recession next year.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the The DU Lounge forum).

It would be a big price to pay. He will cause hardship for literally billions of people if his policies and demeanor trigger a worldwide recession, but if it means he is removed from office before starting a nuclear war, doing more damage to the economy, or turning folk against each other, 1930s Nazi-style, it will be a price worth paying.

1. I hope we do not have a recession next year.

Multitudes of innocent people would be deeply hurt with job losses, falling housing prices, and loss of savings. Why would you hope for people to suffer?

2. What's worse, recession or six more years of this nightmare?

I would willingly lose my house to get rid of the most dangerous monster on the planet.

4. I don't think those are the only two choices.

I think we can get rid of this a-hole without a recession.

3. recession is extremely likely next year, IMO

corporate debt default. Trump has been actively trying to induce recession which will help to complete the transfer of wealth to the top rapidly.

8. I have no doubt that if Trump thought he could profit out of a recession, he would want it.

I am not sure if he is that smart though, although Putin is.

11. I don't wish for one at all.

i ahve no skin in the game since I live mostly on Social Security and savings, but it always the ones at the bottom that get hurt the worst. We are actually way overdue for one after 10 plus years expansion and I don't think presidents have much affect on the economic cycle but since the current one loved taking the credit when it was good he will get the blame when it flops. Bury him deeper.

14. My point is that this shouldn't come as a surprise.

The fate of "Trump University" made the news - not to mention his other self-named "products."
