john tyler president from 1841-1845 has 2 living grandchildren

tyler was born in 1790,1 year after george washington took office.
2 of his granchildren are still alive and in their 90's

tyler had a son when he was in his 60's. that son had 2 sons when he was in his 70's

It's said he gave his inaugural address in freezing weather, spoke for 2 hours, caught pneumonia from it and died. Not sure if that's really how he caught it, but that's the story.

Tyler was the first ever VP to take over in that fashion, and apparently there was much controversy about it at the time.

...who, when *he* was a little boy, had spoken to an eyewitness to the Battle of Concord Bridge. I still get gooseflesh, thinking of the details that old man gave me of that battle and the Revolutionary era--details he got first-hand...
