We have a pregnant girl a pit bull mix dropped off at farm. It makes me so mad that she was just dumped here. Was on back porch early this morning and out of dark as I was having my coffee and pipe she came to me so submissive this poor girl.
She was like I dont know you but Im in tight spot so submissive. I have babies in me I dont understand. So our chocolate lab and golden retriever and Newfoundland and pregnant girl. All sniffed each others asses and I made eggs for her with wet dog food got my wife up and the boys. I said we have a visitor people.
Now she licking my ear I love you man you fed me and my babies. Our sons are like we can raise the puppies my wife is as well. I thought of calling vets to cull her pups but Im a soft ass and cant do it. She is so sweet.

(11,748 posts)bless your heart. (In a good way) I have a close friend that found a sweet make pittie on his country lane last week. Obviously well cared for, collar, leash and all. They have reached out to attempt to find an owner, but no one has come forward, so they will take him in.
We live in a county about 50 miles north of NYC and this happens often here. We are one of the only counties with s no-kill shelter, so folks come here to dump their unwanted pets. I think we will be seeing more of this because of the dire straights folks are in.
Thank you for making room in your heart and home for this little mommie.

Good luck with the mom and puppies.

I remember years ago, I was still in hs and Im 68 so long time ago. We found a stray, mixed black and white kind of a terrier. We took her in, sure enough, she was pregnant. The dog we had got along fine with her and all of sudden one day, there were puppies. With all the dogs my parents had over the years wed never had puppies. But we found homes through friends for all the puppies and the mom. Looking back, we were so ignorant of The whole process I guess we, and she, were lucky it all worked out. Hadnt thought about that in years. My husband and I have always gotten rescue dogs and the youngest we ever got was a 5 month old pit mix. Smartest dog we ever had. Mocha Jean the beauty queen. Now we hav3 a 7 year old, we think, lab boxer mix. The older we get, the older we adopt.
