Next big thing in videogames?

I noticed this year videogame makers will be going to mostly downloadable games, with consoles that have no disc drives at all.

Xbox is going that way this fall.

What's next?
More virtual reality, holograms and suits that give the wearer feedback?

I think Facebook buying Oculus has done either company or the industry any favors

Where to get a character into a videogame, a person had to buy a toy to put on a pedestal or platform.

There was the Disney attempt at this, that went nowhere, likewise Legos.

I admit to being fond of the Skylanders franchise, that game is only online for iPads and chromebooks now.

Most games are so large that the majority of their content must be downloaded anyway, so for me, I like the disc free downloadable option as I do that already.

I enjoyed many hours of Tetris as well.

Our children play video games. My wife bought them a PlayStation 2 for Christmas, near twenty years ago now, and they've been gaming since.
