Imagine if he would put all that ingenuity into good works rather than felony!

I'd say moving the chair over to get on the countertop qualifies. That was amazing!

If there was a reliable measure or test of canine intelligence, that dog would surely pass it. The chair move had me cheering for the dog and then he opened the toaster oven. I don't think there is any way his (or her) humans could have been upset after seeing the obstacles the dog overcame to obtain that snack. Terrific work by that dog.

And I thought his 2nd jump onto the counter was to close the oven door so as to hide his first attemp and cover up his crime. So close to the perfect crime!!

She came home to find Bootsie the cat had been gnawing on the wings and had pretty much chewed them off. I guess the cat would have continued to eat raw chicken if my sister had not interrupted the feast.

I hope your sister's kitty didn't get sick from that.

In the space of just 1 week several years ago our females, who have since died, got two frozen steaks (New York cut, NOT cheap) out of the sink. Only part of the paper wrapping was left. Another time they ate almost a pound of frozen bacon. The third time they knocked down 2 of 3 cheesecakes cooling on the counter; 1 plain, 1 cherry. Fortunately the chocolate one on the counter was untouched. We knew which one had eaten most of cheesecake when we came home. The older female didn't greet us at the front door as was her habit. Instead she was laying on her side in front of the kitchen entrance. She didn't even move, just thumped her tail. Fortunately she didn't get sick but she had to go outside quite a bit that night. That food was supposed to be my birthday dinner.
