Live radio performance. No mixing or cleaning up, let alone AutoTune. Her mic was a little hot, but that doesn't matter much.
Also, cocaine. So much cocaine.

(33,643 posts)It's actually pretty friggin hard to sing well (which she does here) on a bunch of blow.
Reason being: it numbs all the parts of your head that are important to being able to sing well.

(4,726 posts)She's squirming and shuffling and rubbing and grasping - she's on blow. The way you talk about it you know the signs, c'mon.
The fact that she could sing that well, as high as she was, is sad but...ugh.

(33,643 posts)Just sayin' blow ain't the only option. Speed and opioids can cause similar looking shit.
Then again, if she was on blow that wasn't inhaled ... that could explain why she could still sing.
There's no question she's high AF I'd just be really surprised if anyone could sing that well after snorting enough blow to get that high.

(4,726 posts)Now, with the mixed blessing of hindsight, we know it was probably speed or meth, or ingested cocaine (fun fact, a half hour before showtime SRV would dump an 8ball into a pint of whisky and chug it)...but at least she never chased the dragon I guess?

(51,974 posts)Though the other drugs, cocaine included, may well have contributed. And the bulimia.
Amazing singer.
Damn shame.
