(11,535 posts)I used to keep his nails trimmed by running him on the tennis court, chasing his ball. Now that he's 13, he's not so keen on running so his nails grow.
He's getting to be an expensive dog. I wish he'd just faint and make things easy sometimes.

(23,351 posts)She howled all the way there and all the way home. It a very traumatic day for both of us. I was wiped out by the time we got home.
Once she calmed down, she slept the rest of the day. Unfortunately, I didn't have that option.

(16,402 posts)I've got three and the oldest (13) is the absolute worst about getting her nails trimmed. She fights like a maniac and even bit me once. The others don't like it, but don't give me nearly such a hard time. In either case, I need another person to help.
I hope you finally got to rest and recuperate!

(23,351 posts)I used to be able to at least do her front paws in between taking her to the vet. Wrapped her up in a beach towel. But now my hands get too shaky and I'm afraid I'll clip her toe. So it's off to the vet.
And yes, got a good night sleep!!

(2,182 posts)I took part in that process one time
It took 4 people. Someone to hold the guinea pig, someone to operate the clippers, and two people to provide emotional/moral support and/or backup to the other 2. But we got it done
