14. Love It-Watch it Over and Over Again--Subcategory Political/Historical Documentary

definitely tops my list of Political/Historical Documentary which really is an entirely different category:

also American Experience LBJ is a fascinating look at one of the most complicated Presidents in History-you love and hate him. I love JFK and Clinton but their President's series aren't half as good as LBJ

can't go wrong with Huey Long either although parts are flawed

Most underrated is American Experience George Wallace-Setting the Woods on Fire--if you want to understand the genesis of Trump watch this. Trump just patterned himself after Wallace

I just realized all 3 of these guys have a common denominator-all are deeply complex with contradicting and evolving political personalities

Followed by The Corporation, which needs updating, but should be required viewing, & Inside Job, which explains the financial crash of 2008.

Great thread! Coming back to add to my documentaries list!

(I have BILLIONS & BILLIONS & BILLIONS of reasons for liking it so much....)

Dr. Sagan could make science sound so much like just a walk in the forest!

My Octopus teacher is a beautiful movie.

Unmentioned docs that I loved include: Honeyland (2019), Kiss the Ground (2020), I am Not Your Negro (2016), Amy (2015), Food Inc (2008), and Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010). I could go on and on. I love documentaries.
