We saw it at a drive in.
Wall to wall kick ass.
Back story but Im not a comic book guy so Im not sure if its true to the story. Even that was action action action.
No downtime hardly. Will see it again definitely.
I read a brief review of it here on DU saying that it was the movie Scarlett Johansson and the character needed. I agree.
We saw it at a drive in. 80something degrees when it started about 8:45. Cars had to be turned off. It got hot in the car so I took him for a walk for most of the movie but I could still hear the dialogue from other peoples cars - FM radio frequency.

(6,261 posts)Thanks. I've heard enough.
There's a reason we've been watching old movies almost exclusively lately.

(12,581 posts)They keep complaining about the character arc, or how unbelievable it is to have superhuman chicks or how the physics don't work in the battle scenes or whatever.
But the movie, like most Marvel productions, is at its heart an exploration into character and dynamics, be they relationships or social constructs. The superheroes are always people first.
And, on edit, as people say above, it is a kick-ass movie.

(182,271 posts)No alcohol. Restricted smoking area. BUT lots of attention to lights (including phones - please keep them down) and all vehicles turned off. That meant no AC on a night when it was in the 80s as I said when the movie started about 8:45. Very little breeze so it was only slightly cooler outside the vehicle. No outside food either but we brought some. Reasonably priced fairly good food at concessions.
Double feature but we only saw Black Widow. Cruella followed but we left during the break at 10:30. Staying would have meant not getting home until after 1.

(4,858 posts)...as a very typical 60s Cold War spy femme fatale, before she was wearing costumes and doing kicks. It's very, very strange to see someone like this, who wasn't a particularly important character in the MU back then, become world famous. Strange, and kind of cool...

(182,271 posts)One of the characters mentioned main Avengers or big Avengers something like that. Natasha asked what that meant - I dont think your Sky warrior lady(Captain Marvel I think) would take ibuprofen after a fight.
