Lets say youre a notch baby and youre over 60 but not quite 65. And youre selected for jury duty. Its 2 weeks away. And youll be on call for 2 weeks. Though you suspect it will be handled through zoom, this is Florida. Dont take bets.
So question. In the far chance that you might get selected, would you try to get a Pfizer booster?

(14,118 posts)without giving a reason and after that with a doctor's statement. But it's probably not
a bad idea to get the booster too.

(46,570 posts)The one place where I wouldnt work is if it involved a rich private individual (Maybe land developer) suing a city or state government. Because I would know, that In Florida if there was wrong-doing with the city attorneys, theyll settle quickly to bury their mistakes. See, Im biased.

(16,820 posts)You should get the booster anyway, but especially if you're going to be in a group.

(64,920 posts)random thoughts that got him TSed. Ive only met one DUer, flaxbee. We adopted a cat from her. I did see another DUer in 2004, Goddess of Guinness, but I didnt know who was a looking for. We should have shared pics, but it was in the dark era of the bush wars and corruption.

(46,570 posts)You're in that age group? My mother-in-law was in that age group too. If I could I would give you a big hug. Keep on trucking!

(23,339 posts)just walk in. I did that Monday. Had to wait about 20 minutes. But feel so confident now that I have the 3 shots. Still wear my mask though.

(34,119 posts)I was actually called for jury duty last year during a lull in the Covid cases - the lull didn't last long, this being Florida.
I still had to report and sit in a room full of people, travel through hallways full of people, take elevators full of people, etc. Even though I was not in the first batch called in for voir dire, I still had to sit around for hours while they made sure that first group was sufficient to fill the jury.
Of course, this was all before there were any vaccinations available, so it was a big exposure to have to do that.
If I were called again, I would get the booster - as I said, this is Florida - since so many do not have any vaccinations and so many refuse to wear masks or even if they do, can't seem to wear them correctly.
Frankly, the next time I am called I will find an out. I know it is my responsibility to serve on a jury, but they do not make it easy and I am close to the age where I can get out of it permanently. I have been on two juries, called five times for a jury pool, and I am done with it.

(1,716 posts)Not sent by certified mail. They cant prove you got it. Ive been in C FL for a long time and just got my first call @ 6 months ago.
Didnt go , havent heard anything. Probably go back in the pool of residents and maybe be drawn again. No way Im going in during Covid!
