Today's bumper sticker.

Like the previous edition of Today's bumper sticker (https://www.democraticunderground.com/10181663440), today's bumper sticker is not a bumper sticker and is a one-word message to the world. The word was SCUMBAG and it was emblazoned on the bottom of the license plate holder on a large white Dodge Ram pickup. There were no other bumper stickers or signs on the truck.

I've been told that white pickup trucks, more than any other color/vehicle type combination, is likely to belong to a Neanderthal Republican. When you're mad at the world you're mad at the world.

I think that's a dangerous generalization.

5. The word "prove" originally meant "test".

So, to "prove the rule" meant to "test the rule."
Just as a printer's "proofs" are to test the typesetting, and a distiller's "proof" is the test result. That's why "high test" is "90 proof."

Where I live, the rednecks all seem to drive black pickups.

They’re all black in AZ. My proudest day was when I saw a whole parade of them going down Central Ave in Phoenix. As they approached and overtook me, I could see that each black truck was festooned with the Mexican tricolor.

White is the most common color for cars and trucks in the US for two reasons...

1. In hot climates your air conditioner works better in a light color vehicle.

2. White paint is the least expensive of all auto paints...Red,Blue and Purple are the most expensive.

A lot of auto dealers order their vehicles in larger batches as a fleet order. This is a lesser expensive way to keep a car lot full and gives them a larger markup.

With exceptions, of course, but whoa, when I see one coming to an intersection, I yield until sure they are gonna stop at their red light.
