into the business about forty years ago, so he knows his stuff. Hes been partnering with an agency in SoCal on a deal in Mississippi. The Managing Director of the SoCal firm is also a friend.
A recent hire in SoCal was asked to prepare the documents that outline the agreement before it goes to contract. The guy in Calgary discussed the deal with him and offered any needed assistance. SoCal guy gets indignant and tells Calgary guy he knows what to do.
The outline shows up in Calgary three days late. Its riddled with errors and omissions including wrong dates, inaccurate square footage, and MI as the abbreviation for Mississippi. Calgary guy returns SoCal guy the document with the errors highlighted and a detailed memo discussing the remedies.
SoCal guy goes to HR with the memo. HR gives SoCal guy three paid Mental Health days off.
WTELF!
The MD in SoCal calls and apologizes to Calgary guy and sends him the corrected documents that day.

(27,762 posts)My SO had a similar experience (though not nearly so important and HR didn't back him up either). A youngish, I am going to say GenZ person, sent out an email schedule (they do mobile mammograms) with the name of the wrong town. SO sent a reply all with the correct town name in bold font.
This was interpreted as "calling her out" for a mistake and she complained to HR! He didn't have to apologize or anything but frankly, she should have. She almost sent three people and tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to the wrong town, FFS, and her feelings got hurt because of a font.
