Another perspective on how much rain we've had.

I live one mile from the shore of Clear Lake, the largest natural lake in California. Since Christmas we have gained four feet of water in the lake. The lake is 44,479 acres. And if the rain stopped right now, we would probably get another foot of runoff.

No major flooding or slides so far. We've been here and done this before. Been a few years, though.

But I suspect they may discover some interesting mudslides in the remote burn areas east of you in a few days.

I'm out in the Sack-A-Tomato Valley, and have an old metal bucket in the backyard that filled up with rainwater. A half a bucket is not unusual, but damn, a whole bucket! WooHoo!

But much of the acreage of our recent fires have been in areas that are unpopulated or sparsely populated.
