What year will "dial-up warning" thread titles finally end?

I remember being surprised around 2007 seeing "dial-up warning" posts, not knowing that some still used it. However, I still see them. I can't help but wonder what year they will finally go extinct. 2030? 2035? Or will we still see them well past that?

Note: I am in no way bothered by these posts, I'm just generally curious. In fact, I kinda don't want them to end, as it gives DU a more retro feel. If anyone actually still uses diel-up, cool!

I got a customer calling in because their VOIP phone wouldn't work with their dial-up Internet. For whatever reason they wouldn't use the Cable Internet service for the actual Internet, just for their phone.
They ended up cancelling service because they couldn't get it to work.

... my bugaboo is when I call the VA to renew a prescription, I have to listen to the painfully slow & detailed instructions on what to do if using a ROTARY PHONE! Argh!

I personally have never had to walk to the front, grab the handle, and mechanically crank, but the term just stuck. Probably even EV owners sometimes describe a starting problem "it just won't crank"

Sometimes the language gets stuck with anachronisms. Or maybe people who speak English just don't do a really good job of it

I'm a Gen Xer, and we would say "It just won't turn." Ya know what I love though? That the "Save" symbol is still a floppy disk.
