Dammit I have covid

Hit me like a freight train this morning.
Had no issues prior.
Taking everything I can take including Paxlovid.
Just totally sucks and I feel like shit.
Feel sorry for me please.

1. Hope you get over it

as quickly as possible. The Paxlovid seems to help folks a lot.

3. Were you properly masked when you typed that?

Both son and daughter-in-law went through it; said it was a couple of days of misery and a few days of being tired.

4. Covid sucks.

I had the original when nobody knew what it was, didn't bother to get tested because I didn't think I was sick enough for an ambulance.

Got better gradually, some symptoms lingering for a long time. CDC finally came out with them as hallmark symptoms when I was long over it.

Breakthrough case wasn't bad, it was after the vax. None since then.

6. Me too, Warpy. The knew that it was SARS Type 2, AKA CoVid19 but REFUSED to admit that it was

here in the states, (Sacramento CA). I will NEVER forget the date, time AND year, December 28 2019 and felt the first symptoms @5:28 pm. I was on the phone with a client, setting up an appt. I fought that EVIL PLAGUE for almost 6 months but didn't realise that's what is was until I read all the symptoms. The reason I didn't know I had it is because I have Systemic Sarcoidosis , (it's in my heart, my lungs, my skin, my skull, ad nauseum). Anyone who has a serious autoimmune disease can testify t the fact that a serious flair feels like the WORST flu from the deepest pits of hell, followed by a prolonged period of fatigue. If you'll remember, late '19 and 2020 were marked by the introduction of alot of appts being converted to telemedical consults when possible and people were dying like flies without family being able to have family there.
I had such an appt with internal medicine and after going over a few things, the resident, ( UCDavis is a teacing hospital), blythely tossed out this gem, "Well, atleast you haven't had CoVid19." I looked at him with a stern look and without so much as a smirk said, "Yes I did." They both looked at me and then one another with a virtual pat on this "little lady's head" and told me I hadn't had it. I was pissed but kept my cool while ticking off al the symptoms I experienced, watching the blood drain from their faces. Then, the attending nearly screamed at me, "WHY DIDN'T YOU COME IN?"
I told him that I had SYSTEMIC SARCOIDOSIS & that there's a reason it's called "The GREAT PRETENDER". Weirdly, I NEVER lost my sense of taste or smell BUT I lost the ability to see in color for about 3 weeks. Everything was a lovely shade of hospital green. I had that "sumbitch", (as my Texan DH says) for about 10 days shy of 6 MONTHS!!!
BTW, I have NEVER stopped masking up and NEVER will.

12. Oh, I was 90% sure I had it before the symptoms changed

because it bypassed my upper respiratory tract and went off like a bomb in the lower.. I've never had anything like that, even flu starts with a sore throat and maybe a few sneezes. The worst parts were the headache and loss of smell and taste, symptoms nobody was addressing as Covid until much later.

I didn't go for a test because at that point, they were jamming tubes down everybody with low 02 and I knew I didn't need one of those. They'd most likely have jammed one into me because I'm old and I have an autoimmune disease, too.

9. Sorry for you, yes.

May your recovery be quick and the aftereffects fade quickly.

Proud of myself and the wife though.

5 COVID shots since May '21, 1 flu shot recently, and a Zoster just to be sure, and we have avoided all of those.
