green aurora in person. Would like to see some of the other colors with the naked eye.

(21,696 posts)4. we usually only see white in northern wi. one night when i was a kid my grandpa got me up(bro + cousin's sleeping).
he took me down to the pier + white aurora was flashing + dancing across the whole sky.

My dad saw them in Seattle on a business trip in the late '60s.
My mom in NYC as a kid in the ?early 1930's when she, and her family were sleeping on the apt building's rooftop during summer heat.
First they saw the amorphous, pulsing red light. Then the rippling green curtains! Wow!
Me? Not yet. Nowhere north by the Upper Tier of States. Nor Alaska.
I think it'd have to be a ?k8, or k9 here in NYC possibly. Not sure what that would do to satellites!
