Low-water use washer, large load, top-load, I always rinse twice; small, light-soil load, once.

See response four. I think most, if not all, new washers are energy and water "efficient" -- or claim such.

Low water washers always need a second rinse.
People get sucked into getting a low water use washer not realizing that you must use a second rinse to get the soap out. Of course the sales people don't tell you that either. Kinda defeats the purpose of a low water use washer.
