Documentary vs Mockumentary

Last night on the Discovery channel I watched a wonderful doc (or was it a fake?) about a maneating tiger in northern India, and right after it there was a program about werewolves that appeared to be presented like a real documentary.

I HATE mockumentaries. I know there are no real werewolves (or mermaids...anyone remember that one?) but once in a while there’s one that fools me, like the one about the big shark that supposedly bit a hole in a fishing boat in South Africa and sank it, killing all aboard.

How do you all feel about mockumentaries?

present themselves as real documentaries aren't funny, though. They're like tabloid stuff.

Airplane is a hoot.
