My wife and I started the process for her to immigrate to the US thinking that we would in fact go some day, but I don't think we will. From what I remember it was confusing.

I moved over to South Korea 11 1/2 years ago and got married almost 10 years ago (will be 10 in Jan). I've pretty much cut all ties to the US except for voting, a bank account, and mail forwarding. Don't think I'll be going back.

Good luck on finding the information and I wish I could tell you something useful.

It's a long, complicated process taking many years. And whatever you do, do not lie or fabricate any information at all, whatsoever. My ex husband learned this the hard way and literally lost all rights to get his green card forever.

I have a close friend who applied as a regular person, no husband or family ties, and it took her 14 years AND the help of an esteemed university where she is now teaching.
