A strange and terrible thing has happened to me.

I feel like I no longer need beer. Yeah, I know!

I have tomorrow off, but on the way home from work this evening I drove right by the liquor store and didn't even think about stopping.

Last weekend I drank a bunch of beer and woke up the next day feeling a little hungover. It wasn't bad and I was over it by noon, but when I first woke up I remember thinking that I don't want to feel like that again.

I only drink one day a week, and that has been my habit for a while. It was a good release of pent-up stress from a week's worth of working at a job I didn't like, and worth the grogginess the day. But it doesn't feel worth it to me now. I've got a lot of stuff I want to do tomorrow around the house and I'm looking forward to getting started early. I've never been the DIY home improvement type, but I've been getting into it lately and it's addictive- apparently more so than beer because it's over-riding my taste for the brew. It helps that I finally have the money to do a few things around here.

And speaking of money, if I give up the brewskies it will probably save me about $60 a month. More money to spend on my new Menard's addiction.

Eat, drink, and be merry. I'm going to be the asshole neighbor running a weed whacker at 8AM. Sorry in advance.

And he will be out there, rain or shine, at 8am on a Saturday, lawnmower, or weed-whacker.

The man is obsessed with his yard. It looks nice, don't get me wrong. He owns a home business, so any time he gets tired of businessing, he can drop everything, and go out for a good mow...

I've got some mildew growing on the north side of the house that I need to take care of, my front door needs painted, and I've got some inside stuff to do. I've already got everything I need and I am ready to roll.

The HVAC guys are coming on Tuesday to replace our central air unit. They are probably going to be kind of noisy and are starting at 8AM. The woman who lives on that side of us likes to party. It's probably going to be my first venture in home improvement assholery.

You scared me!

Whew. Thank goodness!

I'm glad that you're happy with your new DIY addiction. Houses always need something.

Enjoy!

I saw a sign outside my usual liquor store hang out that said, "Thanks for all the business. " I wonder if they are missing me?

I would be right there with you, but I made the mistake of sampling Sun King Wee Mac. I will never give that up, LOL!

Seriously, though, saving money and feeling better are always good!

Getting that job you worked so hard for so many years seems to be exactly what you needed. I think it's great that you're capitalizing on this good turn of events in your life. Who knew?

Look at yourself in the mirror and meet and greet the new Tobin!

In all honesty, you are an inspiration.

Most beer is pretty cheap. Fifteen dollars will get you a twelve pack of a half way decent brew here in Indiana.
