I didn't know that was a thing.
Like nail salons for eyebrows?
jeez
Skittles
(152,965 posts)it sounds silly, but they are heaven for gals with dark, thick eyebrows

(54,255 posts)I guess Sarah Silverman knows about this.
I love her, but she is a bit on the hirsute side.
You get to be a septuagenarian and you think you've seen it all and then you learn you haven't.
Not by a long shot.

(152,965 posts)I had to look up hirsute.....I learn something new every day
I think Sarah is very pretty, and hilarious too

(54,255 posts)They were in high school together.
She's actually been at our house on a sleepover.
She was funny as hell back then.
Just not quite so ...profane?
But that's her shtick.
She makes no bones about being a hairy gal. Even has worked it into her act.
She was in Boston recently and comped them tickets to her show.
They had late dinner after.
And there I go, dropping names again.

(10,084 posts)that makes sense now. The more ya know. Thanks.
Apparently it's less painful than tweezing.

(47,209 posts)And a weird ombré trend where they outline a dark defined brow but it gets lighter to closer it gets to the center of the face. It arcs under the forehead in one swoop suggesting a unibrow but w a gap in the middle.
Let me go find pics, it's pretty weird!

(35,431 posts)I never knew brows were such a "thing."
However, come to think of it, in the last year, I've had a number of students with strange brows.
Then there is the "no brow" look: yes, no brows at all.

(90,740 posts)Far superior to waxing or plucking.

(20,882 posts)Last time I did wax I ended up with a black and blue eyelid. Never went back to that place again. And thread is cleaner than getting plucked and it doesn't pull your eye lid like plucking.

(54,255 posts)who doesn't know about brow bars and threading.
The older I get the harder it is to keep up.
Skittles
(152,965 posts)probably would be best if I put you on a regular schedule; yes INDEED

(5,124 posts)in Jackson Hts, across from the subway sta. There are 2 salons and only $5.00 for the appointment. Only takes 5 minutes.
The attendants are usually from India, where this technique is from, I think.
Other cities and locations charge about double of the Jackson Hts and most of the Queens area prices.
I like the threading, superior to any other method of eyebrow grooming.

(62,346 posts)and the ?stylist? asked me if I wanted my eyebrows tended to.
In nearly 70 years that is the first time I had heard such a thing. I was speechless.
I am guessing she was offering a service like you mention.
Well, too late now. I may have done it when I was young and pretty.

(5,124 posts)You can also get a facial, a manicure, and more. Nothing wrong with looking better!

(26,581 posts)you don't even get a haircut!
My wife had to explain both of these things to me the first time we walked past one in town: it took about 15 blocks before I was convinced she wasn't pulling my leg...

Usually done for special occasions.

As long as she doesn't do cosmetic surgery, I'm cool.
She is very lucky that she was born with a small nose - LOL
Fortunately, she knows she has a small nose.

(54,255 posts)Ladies: have you ever wondered what it might be like to squat over a scorching hot cup of tea with no pants on, trying to concentrate on relaxing and allowing the steam to cleanse your vagina, while also being desperately afraid that you are about to burn your vulva and then have to explain all of this to a really unsympathetic emergency room doctor? Then do I have a treatment for you it's called "v-steaming" or "vagina steaming," and it's sweeping the nation (and by "nation," I mean "people who wish their vaginas were more like Gwyneth Paltrow" .
