Back On the Chain Gang - The Pretenders

Released in 1982 as a single and later included on the album, Learning to Crawl in 1984. The song was a memorial to Honeyman-Scott, their lead guitarist who died of a drug overdose. It was also written during her strained relationship with Ray Davies (of the Kinks) when she was three months pregnant with their daughter.

He was out of the band, but it was another friend who died just 10 months after James.
Rough time for her.
What a great song resulted. I think this song, and the album was their pinnacle.

I've been here 278 months, so a bit over 250 per month.
That's just a little over 8 per day, and I've been retired over 6 years.
Besides, it doesn't mean I have 70k good posts. Who knows what percent are worth a darn?

I still play guitar & piano every day, so I still am tuned in, despite not performing but a handful of times in 17 years.
