His 'Moon River' when I was 7 or 8. There was a record store in a shopping center a few blocks from where I lived that had a free juke box with the top 40 on it. I was in there one day & kept playing 'Moon River' over & over until finally the man working there came over with the 45 in his hand & asked me if I wanted to buy it. When I told him I didn't have enough money he asked how much I had. I pulled my change out of my pocket (I'm sure less than 30 cents) & he grabbed it & said that's enough, go home & play it.

It had 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' on the flip side.

not quite sure when-my dad drove a beat up old Mercedes diesel that he had inherited from an uncle. During one of its periodic breakdowns, he spent the day in the local dealership drinking coffee with a very nice man who was "in town on business". They walked around the lot, talked about all sorts of stuff, and, then at the end of the day shook hands as the stranger remarked that it was time for him to go to work. Dad came on home for supper, and as we settled around for the local news of the day, a reporter gushed that Henry Mancini and his orchestra were playing that very night in the coliseum. Dad looked and said "Hey-that's my new friend Henry". I've been a fan ever since.
