1962 UK: Ronnie Carroll - Ring A Ding Girl

I've been throwing out old magazines and newspapers. I came across an article about the 2010 Eurovision contest. It mentioned that in 1962, the same year in which "Love Me Do" was released, this was Britain's entry in Eurovision. It came in fourth.

2. The guy had a pleasant voice....but the song? No thanks.

What ever style that is: Tin Pan Alley, Sinatra pop, etc. has always made my skin crawl — fingernails on a blackboard for me.

Fortunately, the musical world was soonafter turned upside down, thanks to the 'lads' and many others.
