TLDNL...Blaze left Townes his guitar when he died, but was buried with the pawn ticket for the guitar still in his pocket. They had the body exhumed to get the pawn ticket for the guitar...the one that he's playing in this show.

Fuck George Strait. This guy was the real deal. An artist who wrote his own amazing songs. I dont even listen to anyone mainstream in country anymore. Just him, Guy Clark, and John Prine interest me.

I read the biography by Hardy and kind of wish I hadn't. A truly underappreciated genius - but kudos for Ken Burns for giving him more time than more well-known hacks in his doc series on country music - who could have gone on to even greater things if he overcame his addictions. Townes could also be a real shit to those who loved him, but I still appreciate his music.
