'Eternally' By Raul Malo of the Mavericks - (Classic From Chaplin's Film 'Limelight')

- A beautiful rendition of the classic song written by Charles Chaplin. (Spanish version, 'Candilejas').

- Film Trailer for 'Limelight' with the theme song, 'Eternally.' The American movie was written, produced, directed by, and starred Charlie Chaplin (1952).

Score composed by Chaplin, arranged by Ray Rasch. A cult classic, the film is set in London in 1914, on the eve of World War I, the year Chaplin made his 1st film. 'Calvero' (Chaplin), once a famous stage clown, now a washed-up drunk, saves a young ballet dancer, 'Terry' (Claire Bloom), from a suicide attempt. He nurses her back to health, helps her regain self-esteem, & resume dancing. Calvero also restores his self-confidence, but a try at a comeback is met with failure. Buster Keaton appears in a musical scene.

Critical reception to the film's release was divided; it was heavily boycotted in the US & failed commercially. (Chaplin lived in Europe & his alleged communist views were esp. unpopular during the McCarthy era).
In 1972, the film was re-released in the US which included its 1st screening in Los Angeles. This allowed the film to be in contention for the 45th Academy Awards where Chaplin won his only competitive Oscar. Today, the film is sometimes regarded as one of Chaplin's best & most personal works, & has attained a cult following...
