Had to break away from the Tar Heels game against Miami (FL) to go out and get some shots. It started out like this
and ended like this 14 minutes later
And the Tar Heels won! UCLA Bruins up soon.

(86,048 posts)We had one quite similar to that last evening. I was so moved that I grabbed my camera, stepped outside, turned on the camera and the screen said the battery was dead. So I plugged it in and went back out to enjoy the show.

(86,048 posts)I find that if there's a real spectacular sunset going on, if I'm not outside, I go from one window to the next looking at as much as I can see, calculating if I should try to take a picture. I am suddenly now residing near the top of a rather barren hill, I have a fabulous view, mostly.
I also have nightly winds that resemble gale force, I keep the radio on so I can't hear most of it. The mountains are amazing to see from up here and the sunset colors illuminate the snow on the peaks as they turn rosy red, like the clouds across the sky. I have so many sunset pictures, I have given up on many just because.
I do love your postings, they are always nice to see, especially when there are long spells of complete overcast here.
