FL man espousing white supremacy pleads guilty to threatening a black candidate in Virginia and cyberstalking a FL activist

A Florida man accused of making threats against an African-American man running for office in Charlottesville, Va., and cyberstalking a Florida activist has pleaded guilty in a federal court in Virginia.

The plea followed an investigation by the FBI’s Tampa Division, U.S. attorney offices in Virginia and Florida, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Daniel William McMahon, 31, of Brandon, admitted using pseudonyms “Jack Corbin,” “Pale Horse,” “Restore Silent Sam,” and “Dakota Stone” on social media to promote white supremacy, white nationalist ideology, and racially motivated violence, according to DOJ records. He was arrested in September and held in the Pinellas County jail.

McMahon pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Virginia on April 30 and is scheduled for sentencing in July.
