Occupy Women's Rights! Rally to honor the many struggles for women's liberty!
Saturday, March 24 @ 1pm @ People's Plaza, Hennepin County Government Center (300 S 6th St, Mpls)
March is Women's History Month, join us to celebrate the historic and heroic struggles of women for democratic rights. Throughout history, women have taken to the streets, organizing and leading movements for the abolition of slavery, for union rights, for civil rights, for education rights and for women's voting rights, to name a few. Women suffragists engaged in a 70 year struggle for the basic right to vote, in the largest pro-democracy movement of its time. African American women had to fight for the full entitlement to vote for 45 years longer. Come hear speeches and join in the celebration and conversation about women's historic struggles. Our right to vote is under attack! Don't let politicians push us back! Stand firm against the MN Voter ID amendment! Organized by Occupy Minneapolis Events Committee. Endorsed by the AWC, WAMM and
many other organizations.
