"tea party patriots?"

The phone rang. We were expecting a "Rachel from cardmembers.." or "hello seniors" or "start the memories" - this is as far as it takes for us to hang up.

But a few minutes ago it was "Bill from tea party patriots." Was a robocall, so telling him where he can stick it would have been useless.

How on earth did they get our number?

1. A lot of robocalls are dialed mechanically, just going to number after number

in sequence. They didn't have to know your number if it was the next one in a sequential list. Too bad there wasn't a human you could snarl at.

blind calling to find new members?

Are they finding out their ideology isn't as popular as they thought?

Is someone (governor, legislators) seriously looking at getting rid of it (or expanding it)?

they often are talking about eliminating the mortgage deductions. But the realtors have a strong lobby.
