Mayor de Blasio calls lifting of St. Pat's Parade gay restrictions 'progress' - but won't commit to marching
JENNIFER FERMINO
Mayor de Blasio called the inclusion of gay groups in the St. Patrick's Day Parade a major "step forward" for the city -- but declined to commit to taking part in the March 17 festivities next year.
De Blasio, who was the first mayor in 20 years not to march, said he hadn't yet spoken to parade organizers, but was happy to hear that a self-identifying gay group would be allowed to march for the first time in history.

(68,644 posts)I mean, the inclusion of a gay group wasn't his call.
And, I don't see how his attending or not is at all associated with the gay group's inclusion.
Could it be that he just doesn't want to commit to the parade one way or the other this early?
