92 residents at Va. rehab center test positive for coronavirus

A large number (58%) of asymptomatic people had positive tests! Read the whole story at the link if you can. The statement from the rehab center shows why we need widespread testing and what can be done with those results.

HENRICO Co., Va. (WSET) -- A Virginia rehab center who has been struggling with a coronavirus outbreak that has killed at lest 16 residents announced that more than 90 residents have tested positive for coronavirus.

Canterbury Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Henrico County reported five deaths in the last 24 hours.

The center said Thursday that 92 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

Among those cases, 53 are asymptomatic and 39 are experiencing symptoms ranging from mild to severe, the center said in a release. The facility decided to test each patient because of the outbreak.

Test results for 35 residents came back negative and 25 staff members tested positive.
