The Crocodile, a historic Seattle music venue, set to reopen as a multi-venue entertainment complex
The Crocodile, a venerated Seattle music venue, will reopen next week after moving into a new multi-use space in the citys Belltown neighborhood.
The new venue will seat 750 people in its showroom and includes a daytime café, an alley restaurant bar, a 17-room hotel, and a comedy club/movie theater that sits 100 people. It relocated to the old El Gaucho restaurant building at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Wall Street.
The original venue, also located in Belltown, stopped holding concerts in March of last year after Seattle became the first U.S. epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.
Between the pandemic and being pushed out of our home of 30 years, this move was never going to be easy, Manager Adam Wakeling said in a news release. Were hiring back many long-time employees who braved 18 months in a vacant industry where live events werent possible.
